This study investigated the psychosocial Impact of 2019 Flood on Aged Victims in Benue State. This is because of the alarming rate of flood in Benue between 21st - 29th September 2019 and the antecedent of psychological, social implications on the aged victims in Benue State. To guide the conduct of the study, two hypotheses were tested accordingly. Relevant literatures were reviewed. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Four hundred (400) respondents from IDP camps constituted the sample size of the study. A structured questionnaire titled “psychosocial impact of flood questionnaire (PIFQ) was constructed by the researchers and was used to collect data for the study. Data obtained for the study were analyzed using chi-square statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study were as follows; there was a significant impact of flood on alienation and stress of aged victims in Benue State. Based on the findings of this study, it was concluded that; flood has a significant psychosocial impact on aged victims. The effects may be greater for victims who are adults and elderly and are already experiencing psychological problems such as alienation and stress. Based on the findings, the study recommended that counselling psychotherapist should reach out to members of the community that are prone to flood and expose them to the dangers of flood and also counsel those who are victims to avoid the problem of alienation and stress.
