This paper examined the influence of home background on self-concept of senior secondary students’ in Nasarawa state. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study comprise of 20,190 senior secondary school students in Nasarawa state. 377 respondents were randomly selected using Krejcie and Morgan table for determining sample size. Questionnaire was used to collect data which was analyzed using mean, standard deviation and chi-square statistics. The findings revealed that economic, social and educational home background had a significant influence on senior secondary school students’ self-concept development in Nasarawa state. Therefore, it is recommended that parents and teachers should be enlighten on the need to develop a cordial friendly relationship with their students. This will help to develop the total adult useful to himself and society.
